Cherry N Rivets

Post by Roland Kriening » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:31 pm

I bought some 5/32 Cherry N Rivets from Aircraft Spruce to put in some
"oversized" holes I had.... don't we all. My question is this...

As the shank is not attached to the end of the rivet on the rivets I
purchased (as with the other 10,000 or so I have worked with on the kit)
should the back side of the finished rivet look different from the rest.
From the back, mine appear to be enlarged hollow tubes, somewhat deformed of
course. All 20 I did seem tight. It appears as though the head of the shank
is pulled through the rivet enlarging the sleeve slightly, then snapping
off. Thus the hollow tube effect. This is the first time I have seen this on
a rivet so am not sure if they are normal, bad rivets or other.

Please excuse my terminology... I'm sure you get the gist of what I am
saying.

BTW... thanks for all the responses on my 0-320 question. I have decided to
pass this one up and look for a running one that is reasonably priced...
with accessories of course.
