254R - report from the trenches

Post by Ron Shannon » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:19 pm

For those who don't follow my web site on a daily basis [both of you] these
are the last nine (!) "build / install" items left to do before inspection
-- cut & pasted from the task spreadsheet. The numbers on the left are the
approx. percentage of each item that's already been completed.

20 Brake plumbing 50 Re-install control column 40 Install/wire stick
grips 30 COM 1 antenna install 50 XPNDR antenna install 10 Baggage rear
wall
Rudder tip 80 Placards
Install seat belts

In addition there are things already built which will need to be reassembled
(fairings, cowl, hook up cables, etc.) and lots of "operational /
administrative" items, like change the pickle oil for break-in oil, fuel
line & flow tests, engine start & tune (next week, I hope), static test,
W&B, etc.

Jim started the project in 1996. I've had it four years and one month. At
this stage, the drudgery has disappeared, and the fun factor is very high.

PS - Most of the above is true. :)
