cc-38 mounting

Post by Jones, Mike » Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:33 pm

Hi All

Have noticed a problem with mounting the main control tube that the control
sticks attach to on my rebel.

The main carry through fus-5's (x2) are cut in half on my rebel instead of
being square tube like on most rebels.

The brackets that hold the control tube are cc-38 and normally rivet to the
fus-5's.

In my case the cc-38 brackets are to wide to attach to both fus-5's , what
do i attach the cc-38 to, the floor panel or must i add channels ???

cc-38 mounting

Mike on my rebel I cut the tubes to save weight and I used peices of .125
material about 2 1/2" wide and the same length as the cc38 I centred the
cc38 on the fus5 and used 3/16 rivets through the cc38, doubler and fus5.
[I didn't have any 1/8" rivets any where near long enough] and 1/8" rivets
every where else.
