[rebel-builders] Bungee landing gear

Post by Bob Patterson » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:29 pm

Hi guys !

The usual practice is just to use the Delrin dowel, drilled,
with the inboard ends ground/filed out to fit the tube - NO saddles.
Just the large washers on the outside ends.

The bungees go on the Delrin, the first 2 are side by side,
and that fills the space to the washer - then the 3rd ring goes
on top, sitting in the groove between the first 2.

We are putting 9044 bungee rings on Rebel #719R. Are longer AN6 bolts and
spacers required? We have AN6-35 bolts with 1"dia.delrin spacers(acft
spruce#02-52001) and aluminum saddles (acft spruce#04-00925) and they seem
too short to hold all three rings per side required with lycoming engine.
