Rebel Builders Fabric Session - Oct. 6th

Post by Bob Patterson » Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:24 pm

The Rebel Builders Of Ontario will be having a Fabric Covering
Session on Sunday, October 6th, at 1 pm., at the RAA-TR hangar at
the north end of Brampton Airport (CNC3).

This is an RAA-Toronto Region event, and the chapter has
given us the use of the whole hangar for the day. All Rebel Builders,
Chapter members, and anyone interested in learning is welcome !!

We will be trying to cover a few ailerons using the Stitts
Polyfiber process, as recommended by Murphy Aircraft Mfg. We will
be working outside, in front of the hangar, as no painting is
permitted inside. We will be sheltered from the wind by the hangar,
and will have access to power, if we bring long cords.

Please bring an aileron (or 2), the required PolyTack, PolyBrush,
and other materials, Polyfiber fabric, an iron, a meat thermometer
(to check iron temperature), an extention cord, and a folding lawn
chair or 2. If anyone has the Polyfiber manuals, please bring those
along too !

Those of you who attended the previous session, or have more
recent experience with Polyfiber covering, PLEASE come along and
help show the rest of us how it is done !!!!

If we're lucky, we might have some experienced Chapter members
on hand, and possibly a couple of AME's to show us the way !

Everyone welcome !!! We will have free coffee & donuts, as
usual, but seating might be short, so please bring a lawn chair.

Please invite anyone you think might be interested in homebuilding !

If you need directions, or more info, call:

PS
Please pass this on to everyone you have email addresses
for, or post in the clubhouse. Thanks !!

Rebel Builders Fabric Session - Oct. 6th

Post by Aurele Lavigne » Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:28 pm

Bob, I'm really interested in learning the techniques for fabric covering
but can't make it to the meeting with the distance and all, besides it's
opening wekend for moose here. I would really appreciate some tips and if
possible a copy of the manual if anyone has it. Any and all specific
products used on how to restore would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any experts at your meeting, could you provide thier e-mail and
I'll contact them directly down the road when i'm ready to go ahead.

Thanks in advance,

Aurele
