Installing the Fin

Post by Al & Deb Paxhia » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:48 pm

Don,
I set the shelf below the fin to be level with the cabin floor when I built
the fuselage. Then set the bottom of the fin to be level with the shelf.
Will check mine tomorrow and let you know how it accually came out.

Hi all,

I quite today's workshop session with the vertical fin installed with one
cleco and some clamps. Tomorrow I will be setting it vertical, using a
level, and finishing it's installation.

Do I want to set the cabin door posts vertical?
Do I want to have the cabin floor horizontal?
Do I want the shelf under the Vertical Fin where the Horizontal Stab is
installed horizontal?

If there is not total agreement with the above area's which is best to
"have
plumb"?

Any advice as to how to "true" the fuselage so that a level may be used to
set the Fin vertical would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Don,
Checked the actual installation today and the bottom of my fin is level with
the floor and the shelf under the fin.
