Crossflow Suburu

Post by Mike Kimball » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:47 pm

I sent an email to Crossflow back on the 6th of Feb and still haven't heard
from them so I thought I'd ask the list. Maybe someone has already gotten
these answers. Does the six cylinder firewall forward engine package for
the SR provide for a constant speed prop? Was the package designed with the
MAM provided cowl in mind?

AFAIK, they do have a setup for oil pressure for a C/S prop.
I know they did offer 2 different cowls for the Rebel - don't know
what they have for the SR, but almost anything should fit the
standard Murphy Lycoming cowl.

Mike, here is a response I got from Crossflow a couple of weeks ago asking
some of the same questions. I did not ask about the constant speed prop in
this e-mail but have before... basically at that time you had to use an
electric prop, but I believe their new PSRU has provisions for oil for a
hydraulic prop.

Mike

Cowling - we generally do not design to fit inside a stock cowling - however
as our engine dimensions are smaller l d h we usually don't have a problem
fitting inside stock cowl you might have to do minor mod.
Hello,

I am terribly sorry for the delay in response. Our technicians are very busy
working in the shop and I sometimes have difficulty holding them long enough
to get my questions answered.

As to the UL82 fuel - Our engines will not run on anything lower then 87
octane.

Jorge expects to be in Alaska for the last week of Feb. and he will let you
know when confirmation comes in . He would be pleased to meet with you to
discuss your project. We do have another customer in Fairbanks by the name
of John Tobias Larson. He owns a company called Goldstream Exploration. Feel
free to contact him at (907) 457-6457.

Regards,

Anna Alonso

a cowling mold for crossflow for the super rebel.
