M-14 Seaplane Beta

Post by Don Boardman » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:22 pm

Mike,

The Beta is not really a stopping thing on floats. Its comes in handy for
all those other things you mention:
Or is it just nice to be able to back out of a
Marina slip, or off the shore? Nice taxi options too if on amphibs.
I will be learning all its uses, I'm told Beta is great at providing much
better maneuvering options.

Have a great Holiday gang I'm off to Florida for Thanksgiving. I will of
course have to stop at Gulf Coast Avionics to pick out all the goodies for
the panel.

M-14 Seaplane Beta

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:22 pm

Don't know if they all have it (believe it may have been standard), but
Brian Robinson's Corvette engine'd Seabee has Beta on the prop control. He
says it is absolutely great, especially with the nose door on the Seabee,
which allows everyone to get in dry, start her up and back away from the
dock!

You would of course have to be a little more careful with a set of floats
though (vs the seaplane hull), so you don't drive the back end of your
floats under the water!!

Don, would also like to repeat Al's question, as to who's 3500 amphibs are
you going with??!!

Regards,
