[rebel-builders] Firewall material for Reb #786 (manufactured 2003-2004)?

Post by Dick Wampach » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:31 pm

Rob, I doubt that any manufacture would make a f/w that was not to
standards for heat resistance.

You could try to test the material with a file, if an edge is accessible in
a non critical location. Alum is soft, SS is much harder, you should be
able to tell the difference with just a few strokes.

Dick

Hi All,

All this talk about firewalls has me wondering.....would a 2003-2004 kit
(#786) have been shipped to the US with a stainless or aluminum firewall? I

bought the kit from another builder so the firewall is already riveted on
and I
don't have an official parts list. Is it stated in the manual, by chance?
Easy
way to check?

Thanks,
Rob

the moose instructions have no reference to the firewall at all. So I will

these and look over the regs.
