Congratulations Ron

Good to see all your hard work has paid off. Between Arlington and your flight it's motivation to push on with mine...

Belated congratulations Ron!

Not on email much these days. This is tremendous. It has been great seeing
your progress during my visits. Nothing like having one of those once in a
lifetime experiences of flying an airplane that you have built.

It is an experience that few on earth have had.

It is an experience to share with others.

It is wonderful.

Nothing like having multiple visits from such a helpful and congenial
Rebellious neighbor, at the most opportune times, when inspiration was in
short supply. BTW, I asked for and got a 50 NM radius test flight area, so
perhaps you should issue a NOTAM alerting your W10 cohorts a rookie Rebel
pilot may appear at any moment, flailing about the runway. :)

It IS wonderful. Thanks for helping me get here.

Hey Ron ...Congratulations from this end too! It is just great to read your
reports. The cloud 9 feeling is palpable.

As if the overall completion weren't enough to be elated about, you deserve a
lot of credit too for taking the unknown path of the Jabiru+Rebel. It's just
awesome that it has turned out to be such a great choice.

Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the flying is on, and I'll report more on that before too long.
Needless to say, it's FANTASTIC to be flying the airplane I made to be just
what I wanted. Four hours in the log already.

*[Ed. Warm and fuzzy alert!]* In the meantime, for those who haven't seen
the 23 second clip of the first takeoff, perhaps you'll enjoy a look. I've
probably watched it a hundred times... not for the plane action so much as
the sound track, which IMHO is undiluted pure joy. My better half for 37
years, wielding the camera, gets a little carried away, which is
understandable, but manages to keep steady aim, and best of all, the bubbly
laugh comes from Hon. Daughter Erica -- my first ever passenger some years
back -- who like her mom has supported this crazy venture all along, and
can't wait to fly with Dad in the Rebel. (She will join the Math Ph.D.
program at U.Colorado/Boulder next month.) For the long-suffering families
of airplane builders who loyally stay the course, this could be good stuff.
I hope it tickles you too.

When you stretch your wings, definitely fly into W10. Choose a day with
lighter surface winds as W10 offers interesting challenges. It is longer
than your strip, but surrounded by trees. Drop in M-F at noon and I'll buy
you lunch and send you off with the freshest coffee you can get at the
roaster that I work at right on the airport (with caf

Free lunch and premium coffee too? Whoa! Doesn't get much better. :)

Maybe Friday. NWS lunchtime forecast is light wind and sunny.

You guys are killing me -- planes and actual runways either 6 or 60 seconds
away from your door, living in god's country, and either retired or roasting
coffee beans. Good planning, I'd say!!
