[rebel-builders] List of Suppliers Wanted

Post by David A. Ricker » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:41 pm

Harry

While I'm concerned about the current state of MAM and NOT an apologist,
removing them from the supply chain would harm their business making
things worse not better. Any parts which go through their hands would
be subject to a deserved mark-up, particularly any parts which they paid
the non-recurring Engineering and/or tooling costs. That's just
standard business practice. They would count on that revenue stream to
make up a part of the big picture cash flow.

If I'm not mistaken, the cowl and probably engine mount and many other
custom design parts except the windshield and some others are made
in-house so there wouldn't be much to gain by trying to go around the
middle man.

From what I understand Mr. Murphy has plenty of business interests to
shepherd through the hard times and while there may be dependencies, the
aircraft company doesn't have his complete attention so it appears we
have to be patient and rely on his commitment to the business as much as
we may think it's not the way to run it. That and rely on "inside
information" from the various sources who we hear from in this group
from time to time to provide news when it is available.

Fingers crossed that thing do indeed get better.

Cheers,

Dave

Perhaps if Darryl is so far behind, he should cut himself out as the "middle man". If he would supply us with a list of his outside suppliers for windshields, speed cowls, engine mounts, etc, then we could contact them directly for what we need. If Murphy doesn't make it themselves, then wouldn't it be easier for all concerned just to go straight to the source? Faster and more efficient if you ask me.

I wouldn't compare my worst enemy to NSI...

Darryl's pedalling hard... thanks to being left high and dry with hundreds
of unread "shipping" emails to go thru. The fact that he's even sticking
this economic downturn out, after 24 years, tells me he's not gonna let you
down knowingly.

It would appear that in any financial dealing with MAM then any forward
payments should be placed in an escrow account until the goods are
delivered in full. IS MAM going down the previously well worn track of an
aircraft engine manufacturer now no longer in business called NSI. I hope
that I may get to complete my aircraft.
