N616PM Crash and repair

Post by Paul Michel » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:07 pm

I crashed Rebel SN 374 at my home airport in No. Fla. I lost partial power
at 150 ft. over the runway after the fifth takeoff of the day. Scary thing
is we still don't know why I lost power. Almost 100 hours of relatively
trouble free flying and then this! Rebel did what it was designed to do,
i.e., protect ME. No injuries. Major damage to cabin, wings, flight
controls, prop, flaperons, etc.

Anyway I'm posting to find out if there are any kits available east of the
Mississippi that I can use for parts. There's apparently going to be a bit
of a wait for parts from Murphy and it might be a better deal to try and get
an entire kit. If anyone knows of anything available I would appreciate a
holler at my email or on the builders group.

Second question is does anyone know of a shop on the East coast USA that
they would recommend for either all the repair or partial?

Quite an eventful flight!! Glad you walked away ...er, one could argue
then that it was a good landing. ;) Good for the Rebel, and you!!

What did you end up landing on or through? (did you make the same runway
straight ahead, or some obstacles?)
