Unless the builder is a glutton for punishment, and really wants to install
~ 50-60 more traditional nutplates with three holes and two countersunk
rivets each... this is yet another excellent application for Click Bond
nutplates. Drill _one_ hole, slather the epoxy adhesive on the back of the
nutplate, pull the self-centering, self-tensioning silicone nipple through
the hole, wait 24 hrs., and you're done.

If true, you could use fewer screws, save weight and time installing nut
plates. You should use nutplates as everyone has mentioned, the panel is
structural.
of the electrics mounted to the panel for easy access. In the 9+ years that
my planes been flying I think I've opened that panel about twice. If I were
building another rebel I'd do all the wiring that I could before installing
the firewall then I'd close it up and crawl under the panel for the rest.
Just throw a big cushion on the floor so the elevator cable doesn't dig
into your back and have at it.
