[rebel-builders] Rebel Instrument Panel - Dynon D180 --- Powder Coating, Nu

Post by Ron Shannon » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:07 pm

Another reminder from the Dept. of Broken Records...

Unless the builder is a glutton for punishment, and really wants to install
~ 50-60 more traditional nutplates with three holes and two countersunk
rivets each... this is yet another excellent application for Click Bond
nutplates. Drill _one_ hole, slather the epoxy adhesive on the back of the
nutplate, pull the self-centering, self-tensioning silicone nipple through
the hole, wait 24 hrs., and you're done.

If true, you could use fewer screws, save weight and time installing nut
plates. You should use nutplates as everyone has mentioned, the panel is
structural.
