[rebel-builders] RE: Rebel Aileron Queston

Thanks for the reply; actually, the bottom leading edge rib is 90 degrees to
the side of the rib. The spar leans back some naturally, which seems to
raise the nose rib off the table. Another builder told me that when
assembled, if the trailing edges are flat on a surface then the leading
edges are up in the air some and vice-versa.

If this is the case then I should be able to lean the spar back a bit so
that the L.E.rib flange centers on the spar. That would make the trailing
edges flat and the L.E. ribs off the table approx 3/8". What do you think?

The nose ribs will sit a little proud of the upper spar flange do to the
taper
of the aileron itself. You do have a minor problem though as your bottom
flange is not sitting flat on your bench. Before you drill your ribs make
sure
your bend the bottom flange of the rib so it is 90 degrees to the side of
the
rib then you will be good to go

Have you tried fitting a rib behind the spar to see whether the spar
flange bend needs to be adjusted and to see what shape the fabric will
want to conform to?
