Moose M-14 engine mount beef-up

Post by Ted Waltman » Sun Feb 19, 2012 12:20 pm

I just posted two pictures (Area 107 - SM Fuselage) of the heavy-duty
structure (C-channel and 4130 gusseted plate) that Bob Scheuber and I
designed (with the help of an A&P friend) to beef up the M-14 top engine
mount. Bob did the welding on the 4130 (great job Bob-and thanks!). The
pictures are annotated to explain the structures.

The 4130 backing plate structure of course bolts to the V-brace. We also
redesigned the V-brace to be very similar to the pictures that Dale Fultz
previously posted.
