SR2500/Moose: Aileron push rod to aileron attachment quesiton

Post by Rick Muller » Sun Feb 19, 2012 12:04 pm

I was working on the controls this weekend. The attach point for the push
rod to the aileron is a 1/4" bolt through a doubler into the ribs of the
aileron. There are a pair of bushing that go between the rod-end bearing
and the doubler. Those flying will likely recall assembling this area. I
assume that you tighten the nut down so there is little or no play between
the bolt-bushings and the doubler and all of the play is in the rod end
bearing. True? My concern is that there will be wear here on the doubler.
What have those flying seen when inspecting this area after n hours?
