Rebel from "Down Under"

There have been some discusions on this which should be in the archives
but my memory is that yes a wee bit of toe in (one degree or so) is
probably good, toe out is not good. I have no personal experience either
way.

Hi Fellow Rebel sufferer.

Regarding your lg toe in question, my comment is 0 deg toe in or out.
That has been the way on every tail dragger that I have worked on from
C-47s to J-3 Cubs. Good luck anyway.

Our Rebel project is well along and hope to start handling qualities
evaluation around the 1st of the year. We have an O-320 (160)HP mill in
ours. Bought the project a year ago from a chap who has since passed on.
We work on it 7 days a week in my hangar at the Hawthorne CA airport Sad
to say the support from the factory has not been all that great.

Dear Fellow Rebellers.....

G'day from the Land of OZ !!!

I hope you've all been busy building (or flying) in the recent "dry patch" while this forum was
unavailable.....and many thanks to Mike and Fred for making it all happen again !

I've got a couple of questions that I'd appreciate some help with.

1) WHICH forum address are we supposed to be using ? ..( you'll notice I addressed this
e-mail to "Murphy Rebels" AND "Flying rebels" )...so which is the correct one to use ???

2) I am in the process of fitting wheel pants to the thin walled chrome-molly legs (J3 Cub
copies) that I constructed a while back..... (I didn't like the alloy legs for several reasons )
Anyway, ..I keep hearing stories from various sources that "one or two degrees" toe IN

G'day Bob !

Thanks for the words of advice.......

We have a wall atlas with all our fellow Rebellers' positions marked on
it....and
a CD ROM world atlas as well.
Can you give us your address and a GOOD description of WHERE you are
eg: "5 miles north of where highway 115 and 36 cross in Alberqurqie " (sorry
'bout the spelling)

Wendy and I live in a "Northen Beaches Suburb of Sydney called Dee
Why....which
is about 15 miles north out of the CBD and on the coast.
I'm a Marine captain and engineer , working for the government driving our
public transport ferries around the harbour and Wendy is a secretary for
a local wood importing company.
We hope to have kit # 541 R flying "christmasish" time.

Tnx for your informative mssg. Hope your Rebel is coming along well.
What engine do you have in it? Ours is a Lyc 160 . Are in the final
stages of acft instrumentation and trimming. Lots left to do.

HI

Tnx for your nicce e-mail. I live in the city of El Segundo, CA which is
just south of the Los Angeles International Airport . I am a retired
aero engineer and also am retired from the USAF where I served for 30
years as a pilot My wife is also retired from Hughes Aircraft where she
worked for many years as a proposals operational specialist She
received her pilots license about 24 years ago.

We have owned a number of different airplanes including an Ercoupe,
Cessna 170B, Lake amphibian and a Piper Comanche 260, which we last sold
a year ago. So now it is the Rebel.
