Drew
I was coming out of Six Mile on Mon.
Buzzed Wayne's (from a respectable altitude) enroute to fuel at Midland
then home, underneath those same clouds.
A bit bouncy but a great quartering-tailwind.
Thought about flying up to visit you sometime but need your phone-number at
the cottage.
Then maybe we could fly up to Temagami and torment Wayne?
OR, you guys could all come and visit me........Angus

Thanks for putting up your numbers Garry. 7500'DA? how hot was it. I went
up that high coming home from the cottage on monday to get over some
broken
cloud and bouncy hazy underneath. I haven't been that high for years what
a
view :) I was impressed with my new engine even that high with almost a
full load I was climbing over 500fpm.

Muskoka

Post by Drew Dalgleish » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:32 pm

Hi Angus We were up but I made the mistake of thinking it was going to be a
good weekend for sailing my Hobie cat now that the water has finally warmed
up. So we drove and had calm winds all weekend. The boat never got off the
trailer and everyone was flying but me. :( I've had a lot of good flying
this summer so I can't complain too much. One really neat new thing this
summer was going to Killarney and landing in the channel then taxiing up
the ramp at the mountain lodge. We were surrounded by tourists and I've
never had so many pictures of my plane taken at once.

Interesting points Drew.
When I read the post I was reminded of a previous warning not to drill any
holes in the gear struts for fairing mounting due to weakening issues.
That said, my fairings are drilled and riveted into my gear legs. I've
wondered about rebuilding them to correct this, but...... on the amphibs
since 05 so no rush.
Were you up in Muskoka over the weekend? We spent the whole weekend flying
around visiting friends, and doing Henry's, put 3 fillups through the 0-320.
