[rebel-builders] Which is the better engine mount/ prop

Post by Rebflyer » Sun Feb 19, 2012 10:26 am

Hi all,
Well the Warp Drive is no better off with the conical mount from my
experience. I have an 0-320 A2B with conical mount, 150 hp 72" blades and I had the
cracking problem. The odd part was I had no signs for 350 hrs and found 2
cracked on my condition inspection. I couldn't see the cracks until I removed
the spinner.
Why, well, the only change was I noted either a valve that appeared to be
sticking slightly, or a plug missfiring, on the way back from OSH,( over the
middle of the lake of course!), which smoothed out in about a 1/2 hr just
before I reached the shoreline. I did the usual mixture tweaking, but I didn't
change the throttle until I was nearer the shore. Neither had an effect. No,
it usually doesn't get over water rough:)
I think Wayne has it right with the 70" blades.
Currently I'm running a 4 blade Warp 70" that is working well. I have
about 25 hrs on it.
Still, I'm going to change props. I'm waiting on my new Catto Prop now.
