Has anyone tried to access the current updates on the tech support page for
either the rebel or the elite??
I can get to the older ones, but not the newer Jan 2002
Is this my problem or the sites

Keith, it is the site! Obviously someone has been proactive at providing the
link, but has not yet installed the document or has addressed the link
wrong. I have been curious myself as to what MAM has published as a "Spring
Gear Reinforcement" update, "Spring gear modified" document and "Tailwrap
and gusset" modifications. Are they listening to us, or have they come up
with something out of the blue??

Also have been trying to access the update on the SR aileron spades. The
pictures look like they have been made about twice as wide as what comes in
the kit and since I didn't install the spades when I built the ailerons that
I now own, I would like to do it only once with the new updated ones to
lighten the stick!

Thanks for the confirmation
I was pretty sure that it was their problem but wanted to be sure
I am holding on a couple of items as I want to see what their latest updates
are about (Elite)
I guess I will call if not fixed in a couple of days
I am sure I can find something to do in the meantime

Hi Keith !

The factory are aware there is a problem with the site -
unfortunately they can't connect to the servers at their ISP right
now !!! They will have it fixed ASAP, though ...

I gather everybody is pleased with the changes on the
site - more to come !! :-)

Thats funny cause they told me they were'nt taking any more direct
orders for the Rebel. Yet there are the pics on the front page.

Well it looks like the BearHawk is ard $57k after all is finished. I'm
trying to fig out what the final price will be for the Rebel. I sent
them an email.

Id sure hate to build the plane and then wreck it. Is it possible to get
insurance for these types? Cost?

Hi Bob!

I think the site is coming along nicely. There are some housekeeping details to clean up, such as the Airshow link on the home page listing "2005 Airshows."

I strongly recommend that the sales staff but the price lists back on the webpage. Getting a link that says "contact sales" is not very encouraging to the interested passer-by.

Also, a little more detail on construction would be good. For instance, some notes on why Daryl went with pull rivets (and their advantages) would be good. I highly recommend the Zenith Aircraft Co. website as an excellent example from which to draw ideas.

Best Wishes,
Rich

I'm sure you'll get plenty of responses about who offers insurance for how
much... but the gotcha for us is that we're in Alaska. Most of the carriers
out there that will write a policy on an experimental, will not do so in
Alaska. I checked with Falcon a couple of years ago, and they would only
after the test period was flown off... but I haven't done any shopping
recently.

Thanks Rich !

You're right - I think the page says "Airshow" - the "S" is missing !
Also the airshow page itself has 2005 in the heading - just AIRSHOWS
would do ...

Totally agree about the prices - it will definitely help sales !

There IS a good section on basic metalworking and standard aircraft
practices on the Tech page .... but maybe a link, or copy of Zenair's
section on rivets might help. This is a perennial question that I
thought would be gone by now !

Maybe a section (page) under each kit type, showing work in
progress on various parts would help. Something like they've done
with the Yukon ...

The "Completions" section is being updated too - good to see !
Send in your pictures, folks. :-)

I suspect that the new webmaster, Kelly, is reading here occasionally,
so maybe we'll see things that people ask for ....

Anyone have more suggestions ????

I'd like a spreadsheet type page that give the options and including the
diff types of engines with totals.

Its a pain to have to try and figure out what the TOTAL cost is gonna
be sos you can compare.

Now BearHawk sent me a real good list and write up of their plane and
options even tho its fabric im thinking abt it since its so much cheaper
than the Murphy's.

Off Topic:

Fact is, mosts materials are way over designed. Wood steel and
especially welds are all over designed since you cant fig what/who is
gonna install them so th factor of safety is pretty good. Prob 1.2 to
2.0 and sometime more. so's i cant see any of these plane kit folk
supplying less than over designed materials.

Hi Bob
Same suggestion that I've been making for years. List the available
extras and prices. We waste a lot of time searching for stuff, designing
stuff, etc. only to find out later that a pulley kit, pitot system,
window doublers, landing lights, tie-down rings, upholstery kits,
firewall fwd kits, cowl kits, etc were available. Having parts available
doesn't help anyone if we don't know about them.
