Rebel price

Post by Bob Patterson » Sun Feb 19, 2012 10:22 am

Hi Bill !

The Rebel is absolutely available ! Current price is $16,647 USD.
That is the regular Rebel, a 2 (+) seat kit taildragger, as on the
web site, NOT the Super Rebel, which is out of production,
OR the SR3500 Moose, which is a more expensive 4 - 6 seater.

Nice to see that 2 of the 3 Rebels shown on the site are powered
by the Rotax 912 - not sure what is in the top one on wheels...

No problem getting insurance for the Rebel here, but Alaska is
a different situation - I'm sure some of the builders up there could
give you an idea of cost ...

Well it looks like the BearHawk is ard $57k after all is finished. I'm
trying to fig out what the final price will be for the Rebel. I sent
them an email.

Id sure hate to build the plane and then wreck it. Is it possible to get
insurance for these types? Cost?

Rebel price

Post by Mike Davis » Sun Feb 19, 2012 10:22 am

Well I can certainly understand your wariness... the biggest problem with
ultralights though in my opinion, is the ignorance of the people who fly
them. 90% are sharp folks who take it very seriously, the other 10% are
idiots who would never be able to get a pilots license, and do enough stupid
stuff to give the entire sport a bad reputation. As for winds, I got a good
laugh out of a crowd one day when I landed my single seat MX sideways on a
40 ft wide runway with room to spare! Had a 90 degree crosswind of around
25 knots, stall speed of the MX is about 20 mph!

Rebel price

They do sound like sewing machines but for my two cents I think they are
very good engines. I flew behind one for a lot of hours, mostly upside down
in my Renegade Spirit.
