Moose specs
The Moose cruise specs on the Murphy website are, well, optimistic. I
flight plan 115k @ 16.5 g/hr for mine [and that's a bit optimistic].
The useful load for a Moose is somewhere very close to 1,500 lbs, of
course depending on what a builder adds to the plain kit. My empty
weight is 1990 (I think). Gross is listed as 3,500' but I hear rumors
of guys putting far more than that in theirs.

Well I was going to tell WRH I had never heard of a M14 Moose with an empty

Gee Ted, you're doing better than I ever did with the M-14 !! ;-)
Never saw less than about 18 gph at what I thought was a comfortable
rpm & mp ... but that did give about 120 - 125 KT. ....
The Lyc. IO-540 was a different matter - at 8,000 ft, about 140+ mph,
and about 13 1/2 gph -- ~ 75 rich of peak. Deeeeelightful !!! :-)
