deburring tools

Post by Ralph Baker » Sat Feb 18, 2012 2:41 pm

I like the single flute deburring tool from ACS. It It has a threaded shank that can be screwed into a hex adapter for use in a screwdriver. A 6" fine flat file does well on flat surfaces that the above will not reach. 3M ScotchBrite wheels work well on sheet edges and faster than the fine file.

To second Waynes comment do not "over deburr"! Your mission is to only remove the sharp raised section, do not chamfer the holes even a little.

PS - We just got back from Sebring Light Sport Exposition. Many intriguing planes but none with the internal volume and useful load of a 912 Rebel. Seems a missed opportunity for MAM. A 912 Rebel with two sleeping bags and pillows in back and a copy of Sparky Imesons book "Mountain Flying Bible" on one pillow would have said volumes.
