I AM INTERESTED IN WHAT PARTS YOU HAVE TO OFFER FOR A REBEL.

MINE HAS FLOWN 5 TIMES, BUT IT WAS BLOWING A LOT OF OIL. WE REMOVED THE
CYLINDERS AND FOUND THAT THE RINGS WERE NOT SEATING ON THE CHROME BORES.

This is not necessarily for Bill, but it reminded me to let the group know:

I have four freshly overhauled power assemblies for an O320 E2D. OH'd and
tagged cylinders, new valve seats, guides, exhaust valves, valve springs &
keepers, pistons, rings and piston pins.

Ready to go.

If anyone is interested.

Bill,
Curt here, I don't know if you have solved your oil problem, but the two
places I can think of to look are; Be sure you do not have chrome rings.
It's
either chrome rings and a steel bore or chrome bore with steel rings. I'm
sure your aware of the ring gap proper spacing and the right side up on the
rings, so the other thing I can think of is the break in procedures. Follow
the recommended closely. Fly it hard!!! Vary the throttle 50 or so rpm
every
5 min. Never go below 70% for the first 5 hr. (Except when necessary like
landing) Slow changes in throttle settings, no long initial taxing if it can
be prevented. I have seen engines that were treated incorrectly on initial
break-in and it took close to 50 hr. before the oil consumption stabilized.
Good luck, Curt N97MR

Hi,

I saved this e-mail a few months ago when this came up before. Maybe it will
help.

To all that have been inquiring about my life and most importantly 3D
Composite Aircraft Parts and the production of wing tips.

Well if any of you have moved from one home to another, you know it takes
a lot of time to get settled. I am now somewhat settled. The shop is a
work in progress and will be for the next 3 to 4 months. I am starting to
get back at production of the wing tips for the Rebel and the Moose/Elite.

I do not advertise on this page and am only writing to stop the rumors. I
am back and will answer all e-mails or phone calls. Glad to here all of
you are interested. I will fill all orders as they are received but
please e-mail or call me in the evening.

By the way, just so you know, I now look East onto Saginaw Bay in
Linwood, Michigan, USA. I have been wasting time watching the sun come up
in the mornings. I have a great view and am thankful to have reached this
point in my life. Waiting to here from you.

This is my first posting on this forum. I am a returning builder, as I bought my
kit almost 10 years ago, got sidetracked, but have returned to pulling rivets.
My question was: Has anyone been in contact with Dave Fife recently? I had
talked to him late last year about getting some of his wing tips and such, but
have not been able to get a hold of him since. I realize he moved, but is he
totally out or what. I would really like to get some of his highly rated stuff.
Any current information would be greatly appreciated.

On a seperate note, my compliments to this forum. You guys and gals are
very supportive and really pass a long some very valueable information to
those of us out there pulling rivets and wondering how to do whatever comes
next. Thanks,
David R. Overly
