Bad Product

Just a word to the wise. I bought a Sigtronics SPA 400 intercom from ACS at Oshkosh, thinking an intercom was an intercom. Since the first flight, I have been plagued with low audio volume and garbled transmit audio to the point of being unreadable. I took a look at the wiring of the thing and found that most of the supplied harness used no shielded wiring in the mic circuits. I replaced it with an NAT unit, and all these problems have disappeared. What a piece of garbage! If anybody wants the SPA 400, it's going cheap, but I'd only recommend it for a glider!

Wayne G. O'Shea

Bad Product

That's what's in my customers Pegastol. Works great. I replaced it two years
ago because his old one died, and did model to model swap so it was nothing
but a quick connect off/on. After taking the old one apart I found the only
reason it quit working was his nose fuel tank had leaked into it and
corroded a board spot to ground. Cleaning that up he now has a spare. Maybe
you got a lemon Al....or the prewire harness had one wire out of place? or a
trim pot was needing tweaking?
