Pro seal

Hi Alvin

We get Flamemaster brand of the AMS-S- 8802A from Aviall (YHZ) at $68.14
CDN, tax & shipping inc. Check out our web site (www.elite583.cjb.net)
for caulking tubes which make dispensing the goop a lot less messy. Go to
the wings page and scroll to the bottom for info on where to get the empty
tubes, they're cheap at twice the price!

Cheers,

Dave

Pro Seal

I believe that there is an "adhesion promoter" that is suggested by the manufactures when adding / resealing, especially when fuel has been on the proseal. You might want to investigate that with the supplier or manufacturer of what ever you are using.

The color was dark gray ... a little lighter than the almost charcoal stuff
inside the tank. Yep, the adhesion promoter is .. scuff it after removing all
the bad stuff, apply the A-Type (thin and runny like paint), and immediately
apply the B-Type when the A-kicks off. Then if you want seal the deal, hit
the B with a painted coat of A. Sounds like a real blast.

Pro Seal

Post by Aurele Lavigne » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:00 am

I need a bit of pro seal to do the sight gauge mod and the local body supply shop never heard of it. Does it go by another name or who is the supplier. I was told to use type B.

Can anyone give me a source,

Thanks, Aurele

Jim Parr

Pro Seal

Just going throught the stuff we got with our kit and we have one 10 oz tube of Bostich Pro Seal 1 part. I find it hard to believe that that one tube is going to do everything that needs to be done and I am not even sure that it is the correct stuff for the kit. When we looked in Aircraft Spruce's catalogue the Pro Seal (2 different kinds) is not the same. Can anyone tell me what the correct stuff is and where is the best place to get it. Also about how much should I get?
Thanks,
Jim Parr
