Got it to here by 8PM tonight. Rear and front struts made and flying wires
installed front and back (instead of cables - AN674 steamlines)

http://www.irishfield.on.ca/gallery/djktofloats.jpg

Hope to get the diagonals installed tomorrow (already cut to length) and the
hydraulic lines run thru the struts. Going to be a little longer than the
weekend though Drew. Got a nieces wedding to attend this weekend just to
mess up my plans! (I hear my son grumbling as well...he's gotta go too!)

DJK to amphibs

I set it at about 2.9 to 3 degrees.... Float top to cabin bottom.

I can come up a hole on the front (or down a hole - did bottom fitting so it
can be dropped a hole and top so it can be raised a hole) Back struts can go
down three holes total (1 top, 2 bottom) or up how ever many holes are left
(about 7 I think!)

DJK to amphibs

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:38 am

CYP worked well at 2.7...but I know Howard liked to really fly it on at
speed and I like to slow down a bit more.

Can't for the life of me remember how I set FOKM and it worked/s nice. Garry
can you look in the install notes...bet I wrote it in there.

I figured 3 degrees was a good place to start. Each rear hole changes things
about 0.4 degrees...so I've got lots to play with if required and have easy
x wire adjustment since I used flying wires and not turnbuckles and cable.

I can't find any reference to mount angle in the tech log. Also no
mention of angle in the journey log where the transition from 1500 to
1800 occurs. Any other suggestions?

DJK looks great on those floats. I bet you have trouble getting around
to taking them off again. : )

Figured I would have put it in the Tech log from when I remounted them as
1800's redoing the front struts. I'll look thru the work log and see if I
put it there and let you know for your own reference.
