Elite fin fairing

Post by Ralph Baker » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:05 am

Our kit is serial 611E and I do not remember any instructions to flush
rivet under the fairing. We do have a two piece (left and right) fin
fairing that I ordered from MAM as an extra. It is raised about 1" in
from the edge so I can fasten that egde flat and the raised portion will
clear most rivets. It will be attached by Rivnuts after fitting and
bonding the halves together. With all the curves I would buy the MAM
fairing again. Making it would be about like drilling 6 or 7 fingers.

By the way, if you do bleed on parts be sure to clean it off well.
Blood is quite corrosive. Ditto mouse urine for us slow builders.
Ralph

PS to Wayne. Sue and I are stuck with each other as neither would go
through all the crap to train a replacement. I do try to be nice to her
as she is employed and generally carries a pistol. :):)

That's what my wife says all the time Ralph. "There's probably something
better out there...but not worth going thru all that training again"!! LOL
