hi guys question how many of you with amphibs have run your
hydraulic lines inside the front struts ? if so, where and how did they
exit and go through the lower skin

if not how did they get "flared "into the outside of the strut?

My Montana 2200s are not mounted yet, but they supply aluminum fittings
rather like the water drain on the gas tanks but a bit deeper to go through
the bottom forward skin. These take a 90* AN elbow outside and inside.
They use steel reinforced flexible line throughout the system. The fittings
get riveted to the front lower skin just inboard of the gear attach point.
Similar treatment for the brake lines. The gear sensor wires go through a
grommet in this same area, and are terminated on a terminal block on the
inside of the fuselage.

At the float end, there are 45* AN elbows through the float skin. There's a
doubler at that point.

Hi Bob,

I ran my hydraulic lines on the outside of the strut like the Elite, on the
CD pictures MAM supplied with the float manual. I ran them through the strut
first but didn't like the bend they made coming out and through the deck, or out
the bottom of fuselage and into the strut.

It didn't look as clean as having them in the strut but after it was all said
and done I don't really even notice them and I would do it the same way again
unless I used a more flexible hydraulic hose and not the clear poly pipe MAM
supplies for the brake and gear lines.
