M14 Rubber Mounts

Bill,
We stock the rubber mount set and ell the set for $225.00. The set includes
all the rubber parts, new washers as well as new nuts and bolts. The Russian
rubber products generally are not cross linked and tend to deteriorate
faster than most western rubber products.
With that said, there are many Yaks flying with rubber mounts that are 20
years old or more. We look at them at annual inspection and if they appear
to be deteriorating we replace them. They do not provide a lot of vibration
isolation and certainly do not allow for much engine movement. When they
start to go it is pretty obvious that they are deteriorating. We often
change them at the customer request.
A word of caution. The two mounts that go in front of the magnetos are
slightly different. I have also seen them put on wrong with the "D" washers
on the wrong side I have a diagram in acrobat with part numbers that I can
send to anyone interested.
