Mr. Smith,
Thank you for your inquiry. We have manufactured reliable high
performance propellers for the past twenty five years. We are
recommended by the Murphy Co, as they do sell our propellers. The Prince
propeller has not experienced any cracking of the Wood or Carbon Fiber
Propellers.
The recommended propeller is 72" diameter with 46" pitch, two-bladed
propeller that changes 4" pitch from static to cruise. The cost for the
Wood P-TIPPropeller $1180.08, and the most durable better performing
Carbon Fiber Propeller $1758.96. Optional Leading Edge Protection for
either propeller is $83.00.
Please contact me if I can assist further.
Manufacturing time is approximatley eight weeks.

Dale,
What engine are you using and what pitch of 74" Prince prop did you get? What
performance figures are you getting from your 74" Prince prop? Thanks.

On amphibs you must be using their carbon fiber with edge protection?

with leading edge protection, which is not needed with the 74 diameter. There
is no indication the water is getting to the prop. If a larger diameter is
used it would be required. I would ask Lonnie Prince what diameter and
pitch would be best for a given plane.
Lonnie recomended a 74-44 to be a equal to my Sensenich 74-56. The 44 pitch
is a equal because of the semitar shape, the P-tips, and because the blades
cone forward under power.
The static rpm is 2300, climb is 2350, full power 2600/115mph. I could have
better performance if I had used a finer pitch or a larger diameter. Check
with Lonnie Prince.
I purchased the prop through Murphy, and the spacer from Saber. The
Sensenich spacer will not work with a wood or carbon prop and is more
expensive.
Not only does the Prince out perform my Sensenich, it is 25lbs lighter.

Dale,
You mention the possibility of better performance, but aren't you already
there with max power rpm under red line at cruise? Do you mean you wish you
had larger diameter, finer pitch, so as to get better low speed thrust at the
possible expense of some cruise speed?

Prince prop
Dale, what climb rates (at a given weight) are you getting?
Sounds like you could increase your performance further with a
pitch that would let you rev a little higher on take-off and
reach 2700 at the top end.

It sounds like you could have had a slightly finer pitch to get better climb
and 2700 RPM redline at full throttle. Your not getting full power at 2600 RPM.
