What kind of Subaru do you have, Del ?? Is it a 'stock' Legacy, or one
of the many conversions ?? Do you have straight tips, or tapered ?? Assuming
it is 72" diameter... ?
Geert's Subaru is more or less stock, and ran just fine at 4,900 rpm.
We were cruising the Formula Power/Crossflow conversion in Rick Abbott's
Rebel at 5,300, and Crossflow said there would be no big problem running
it at 5,700 !! Since then I believe Rick has coarsened the pitch, and
reduced throttle setting to cruise at about 4,500, which still gives him
about 110 or so.... of course, his engine was rated at 165 hp....
Just a thought, but you might be able to run yours a bit faster -
say 4,500, with a little finer pitch, and get a better climb/cruise
balance .....
What do you think, Dave B. ???

I have been flying with a 3 blade. I am getting around 95-100 indicated at
4000-4100 cruise. My pitch setting is I believe 15 or 15.5 degrees. I am
not getting the cruise that a lycoming would get at 2400 rpms with the Ross
Drive 2.2 to 1 reduction obviously my rpms are quite a bit less than 2400.
Hope this helps.

I need some information. Is there any of you guys out there flying with
3 blade Warp Drive blades on a Lycoming 0320 with 150 or 160 Hp. I
would appreciate numbers in pitch and RPM if you are. I am trying to
get a feel for comparison numbers with my Subaru.
