forgot the engine will be backwards and any off the shelf header will point
towards the prop. That 180 degree turn in the exhaust pipes could be a bit
of a challenge. Regarding the "noise" my V8 will make - If it's anything
like the sound the Prowler homebuilt made when taking off from Watsonville
airport in California many years ago, I have never forgotten that "music".
Turn up the volume, I love that song!
'Nuther subject: There is a man and wife team here in Fairbanks that
operate a custom engineering and fabrication business. She has a Ph.D. in
engineering and he is an accomplished fabricator/welder. He built a very
nice WagAero 2+2 and is working on another homebuilt. They are both very
active in the local chapter of the EAA. They are going to design and build
my engine mount, including a complete finite element analysis. I will also
own the jig when it's all finished which theoretically will mean that I will
have the ability to make more. There might be some interested parties out
there, eh? I'm not interested in making money, but I am interested in
helping my fellow builders.

And IMHO the noise that Chevy's going to make will be MUCH louder than you
think. Even if you just use stainless exhaust tips of the next size up from
you're headers and put in a three ring baffle kit it will take the sharpness
out
of it's bark and make it more quiet. With verry little if any back presure.
