Float installation - Rebel

Have posted 6 pictures of FOKM going back on floats. Thought I would show
what I'm up to around here and the fact that you can remove the entire gear
in one assembly c/w with brake lines from the pedal cylinders. This is
especially nice when using bungees as everything stays together. As for the
wishbone butterfly buy a spare one to use for x-cable attachment on 1500's
or to hold the tubes together for 1800's. OR better yet just remove the
x-tubes for a cleaner look and less drag while on floats. Give some thought
to access holes in the cabin floor, for the 5/16 bolts/nuts, so you can do
so!!

When building my rebel I hoped to go on floats someday so I used a pair of
nutplates on the rear main carrythroughs so that I can just pull the bolts
out from the front.

Nobody ever said you were stupid Drew!! Great way to do it and am I to
presume that you cut the carrythru tubes in half to facilitate being able to
put an anchor nut here, or just a bit larger access hole (in the full tube)
to feed the anchor nut in for it's one time installation.

I cut my carrythrough tube in half as per the origional plans for bungee

gear but I think it would be possible to fish a nut plate in from the end
of the tube if someone wanted to leave it uncut.

As for the holes left from the removal of the square tubes, wishbone to carry
throughs, They made a great access for the hydralic lines I thought. Still
looking on how to fair them out, but I'm having to much fun to stop and work.
One other verification, I am getting a positive 100 rpm more with the K+N
filter than the stock brackett. No other change!
Challenger aviation in Ohio is stc ing them for a host of aircraft,
including the Cessna that we need for the Rebel. 84.00 US Curt N97MR
