New Rebel Builder

Hello All,
My name is Tom Swartwood and I ordered a Rebel kit that should be in around April.
I am in NW Washington state and just wanted to say hello to everyone.
I am sure I will have lots of questions for you all as I am a first time builder.
I noticed a few rebels in the Vancouver, B.C. area.
If someone has a rebel I could look at that would be greatly appreciated as I ordered the kit without ever seeing the actual plane.
Tom

Welcome to the addiction Tom! I did the same thing in 1993 without ever seeing a Rebel in person! At least one builder in Washington state on Amphibs.. probably a few more.

Hello Tom,
I'm about 30 air miles se of Seattle on a grass strip, 02WA, Buckley. I'd love to take you up and show you the joys of flying a Rebel.
We can talk about the build as well. This site is a gold mine to the builder, folks like Wayne O'Shea who take the time to help out rookie, (and long time) builders are invaluable. Welcome to RebelHood.

Hi Tom,
That's a leap of faith buying a kit without seeing it, good choice! Flying in the Rebel compared to a Cessna is like: driving a Porsche after you have been driving a Toyota.
You will like it. Last I saw there were 2 amphibs at Arlington, Wa and a Rebel on spring gear at Crest - S36 where I use to fly out of but it has been out of annual for at least 4 years.
Keep us posted when you get your kit. There is a wealth of information on this site.

Welcome, Tom, quite a few Rebels in WA. I am in Langley, BC, so if you are ever up in the Vancouver area, would be happy to show you mine.
Are you planning to go floats? Lots of important early build decisions if you do.
Walter

Welcome to the fray, Tom. I too bought a kit w/o seeing one in "plane"! It was a great decision. You have lots of time to hitch rides in rebels, build your construction table and start gathering some tools (if you need to) before your kit gets to you. There are many builder's web sites that have pictures which are really helpful to builders. Welcome aboard! Craig
