High Sierra Fly-in

Post by ericfo » Mon Oct 29, 2018 7:59 am

Very cool effort and photos of the slats on the Rebel. We flew to the 9th annual High Sierra STOL-Drag Racing fly-in at Dead Cow dry lakebed in Nevada a week ago. Lots of planes with large Alaska bush tires and a couple of planes with slats including the amazing custom Wilga named Draco with a PT6 and other mods. Our Murphy Elite on amphib floats probably had the smallest tires there. There were a couple of other amphibs, but we didn't drag race. Maybe next year ;)

Here's a YouTube video I posted of the event.

Enjoy

I missed you Eric
I was there.
I wanted to get the slats on before HSF but they didn't arrive until the Monday after.

I hope there are more Murphy's there next year.

Shoot. We saw a Murphy fly in (you), but got distracted by the racing and chaos and didn't find you.

Next year for sure!!!

Way to go on the slats and testing 'em out.

The race between Trent Palmer in his Freedom Fox and Mark Patey in his Carbon Cub EX was incredible! Of course Mike Patey & Draco stole the show.

Mike's videos of the Draco build are definitely worth watching... here's the first one.
