Nut-Plate Strength & Application

Hi Folks, Looking for a bit of input on the application of nut-plates.

I've arrived at a decision point for the mount for the horizontal stabilizer for the Elite (SR/M & Yukon, probably the same configuration but maybe different size) and I'm looking for some info/opinions. Some of the nuts where the stab mount on the fuselage attaches are looking to be a royal pain to get at to fit and get a wrench on to tighten with the stab in place so I'm considering nut-plates for at least those locations.

So, my question is: is there data/knowledge which can justify that they will be as strong as/as good as the nut/washer combo that they would replace? I see axial strength of 4580 lb according to NASM21047/MS21047 (K1000-4 @ACS) but I haven't found any discussion about equivalences & application of nut-plates vs AN365 or similar nuts.

Any thoughts & advice?

Elite builders; is it easier than it looks to work in there and not worth the bother of the nut-plates?

Picture of what I put in the SR/Moose as you CAN NOT get at at least 2 sets once the bottom skin is riveted onto the tail section. I think I sold them all off though, not sure if I have any left but I'll look shortly.

Dave, thought they were all gone.. but found another box of these 1/4-28 one lugs. They are anodized yellow with a floating steel lock nut inside. $3 Cdn each + postage if you want some.
