Hi Ramblers !
Things are falling into place well. We have a few more
Ramblers on the list - welcome !
Here's part of a note we received from John Ross, the
airport manager at Iroquois - our first RON this year.
(That's Remain Over Night, for new Ramblers ...)
As some of you remember, Iroquois (CNP7) is a nice paved
strip, about 25 ft wide, with another 25 ft of smooth grass
on each side - effectively 75 ft. of width, and 2,000 ft. long,
running approx. East-West ... right beside the St. Lawrence
River -- AND it has a seaplane base, for those who want to
use their amphibs !! The grass taxiway to the campground
is in the middle of the runway.
The campground is great, with all the facilities,
typical fees, and there's a nearby restaurant, for supper
& breakfast.
There's no fuel, but John will help with getting Mogas
for those who want/need it, and the rest of us will
stop at Cornwall in the morning for 100 LL, on our way
to Les Cedres. (We might have breakfast there too ... )
For some, it might be best to take off lighter ...
Here's John's note - as you can see, we'll get a
warm welcome !
See everybody on the 12th !!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Glad to hear you are coming to Iroquois again!
We can accommodate your planes at the campsite, same facilities as
before.
We have washrooms and showers and a covered area with picnic tables. It
is an easy walk of 10 minutes to the shopping center and restaurant. Just
a bit farther to the motel if the weather gets too rough.
The overnight fee may be a bit higher this time. In 2003 it was about
$12.00 per plane, assuming you camped beside the plane and did not need
connections for water or power. This year the fee may be 50% higher but
I'm trying to get a group rate for you.
We do not have fuel on the field but I'm willing to bring cans of autogas
(no ethenol here in regular or 91 octane) from the local service station
if required. I have about six 5 Gal cans we can use. Other options are to
fuel with avgas at Brockville or Cornwall.
Where will your previous and next stops be?
We'll do what we can to make your stop memorable. Just let me know what
you may need.
Best regards,
John Ross
Airport Manager
