Hi Horst--
Sorry to hear about all your problems with the 172 but will let you in on a
little secret---your not the only one who has lots of problems. My Stinson
is going to cost a fair amount by the time I get the engine repaired and
finalize the current annual.I have even toyed with the idea of taking the
Cardinal instead but prefer the old 108-3 on trips such as this one.
Like you ;I haven't had any indication from any Ramblers other than Chris
who plan on flying to Alaska with us.I keep copying the gang from time to
time to see if anyone wants more info regarding our itinerary hoping some
will succumb and join the venture.
If we get an early start on day one, weather permitting, I would think
Atikokan,( maybe Fort Frances ) is doable but we better think about
accomodations in Wawa and Terrace Bay as well. Never know what we may
encounter !!
The wife and I will be away for a couple of weeks on a short visit to
Portugal & Spain. Will be in touch when I get back and hopefully the weather
and Stinson co-operate so we can meet somewhere to start finalizing the
itinerary.
Have you had any contact with the Mad Dutchman since he went south? He left
me an e-mail address which he thought might work so I'll give it a try
before I go.
Regards --Phil
