Hello Ramblers !!

We had a good group at the planning meeting today - not as many
as we would have liked, though ! Several flew in, and some drove ...

We ran through the route & "things to bring", and got acquainted,
and finished almost on time !!

The group consensus is that we will NOT have the Warm-Up Weekend
at Arthur (too soon, and other reasons ...), but we WILL try to get
to the Fly-In and Camping at Gore Bay Airport on Manitoulin Island on
June 24th & 25th. This is a good spot for it, as we will likely stop
here on the first day of the Ramble - so it's a chance to try flying
over a lot of water !

Another decision was that we now plan to stop at Winkler, MB,
instead of Steinbach - subject to weather, etc. We will phone the
folks at Winkler when we have a bit better idea of timing & numbers.
I suspect we will have about 20 Ramblers (out of 68 on the mail list,
and 42 on the email list !).

The map package is now finalized, and should be ordered ASAP
from VIP Pilot Supplies, at 1-800-361-1696. Just ask for the Rebel
Ramble 2000 Kit, item number K031. It includes all of the maps we'll
need, and a new Canadian Flight Supplement. Because of expiry dates,
they can't ship the package until after June 24th, but need the orders
soon, as some of these maps are not normal stock items.

VIP will ship as soon as they get all of the maps - likely
before July 1st. The cost is $192.87, including standard shipping.
You <might> want to ask for express (1 day) shipping, to be safe ...

We looked at several useful things for Fly 'n Camping - we
can tell you about them later .... Several folks stayed to laugh at
us trying to pack our new tent :-) (it goes UP in about 3 seconds !)

Hope to see you all at Gore Bay on the 24th/25th, and at
Brampton on July 7th for the Kick-Off Party !!
