[rebel-builders] Firewall caulk

This is probably the last place to cut corners, but you won't appreciate
that fact until your engine compartment is on fire & you are going
down!!!
I used P/S-700 by PRC-DeSoto International Inc. A PPG industries
company, 2750 114 Street, Suite 400, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.
800-240-2060
The stuff is rated at 2000* F for 5 minuets. This meets FAA
specifications for the use as a firewall sealant. The CS-1900 is
probably equivalent.

I used the firewall sealant from Vans: CS 1900. You can order from their
online catalog. Here is the info from Vans:
---
Firewall Sealant
Sealant for Firewall Structures
CS 1900 is a compound for sealing firewall structures. It is elastomeric
at
operating temperatures from minus 65 degrees to plus 400 degrees F and
able to withstand flash temperatures of 2000 degrees F. This product can
be
used as a perimeter firewall seal on existing aircraft or during
construction of
new aircraft. In new aircraft, as the skins are being installed, the
flange
of the
firewall should be coated with a thin layer and the skin riveted on
while
the material is still uncured ("wet").
(Limited shelf life of approximately 4 months from purchase).

Hello All
I am getting ready to rivet Fus-10 & 70 to the firewall I was wondering
what
is the best thing (fireproof) to use to caulk the large gaps between the
tabs on the firewall?
