Renegade Wing Covering

Hi All
I've just had a phone call from a Renegade owner in England wondering what the soft material is called that is used between the wing leading edge structure and the final covering fabric ? He's recovering his wing and the manual makes no reference to this strip of softer stuff that is stuck on to the leading edge before the fabric is applied. Any ideas guy's ?
