Hi everyone,

I purchased (did not build) my Rebel Murphy Rebel Amphibious (serial number 0178R) C-GGNB May 20th. The A/C was built in 1994 by D.Lawson and G.Crouse of New Brunswick. It was later purchased by P.Webb and maintained by C.Phipps in early 2000 and kept in Brockville Ont. I have flown apx 30 hrs (on wheels and 14 hrs dual and solo on floats) A/C has now apx 265 total time.

Just got my float rating this Friday. I love the A/C. My float instructor (Jacques Dupuis) will only give ratings on solid home builds and this is one of them. He has over 10,000 hrs on all types of float planes and liked my aircrafts' performance. Full fuel and both weighing each 185 lbs with second last notch of flaps (160 hp O-320 engine) we were taking off in apx 11 seconds (in 5 to 8 knts of wind--- with lake elevation of 800 ft ASL). We were doing cross wind landings and take offs on one float, engine failures also taking off on one float and in the evening managed to get some glassy water training.

On the A/C I have since done the annual, replaced wheel bearings, etc. 121.5 ELT certification. I am neighbour to Bob Cressman and am lucky to have him give me very good advice on both the flying and maintenance of the Murphy Rebel Amphib. Of course Bob Patterson was also invaluable with advice and convinced me to join the list (even if the A/C is already built).

Anyways it is an honor to join your group. Hopefully I can contribute if not I will humbly listen and learn.

Best regards

Dan,
Welcome. Your first post is most appreciated, as I have just come in for a
break from some priming work in my 95*F garage. We builders definitely need
you flyers.
