Hello!

Making progress on the tailcone. I'm setting the fin straight as recently
suggested by you folks and MAM via email. I need a couple questions
answered:
What is 'fus-57'? It's listed as fuselage bracket material, but that's all.
And I can't find a listing on my inventory for a tail wrap stiffener,
fus-89.
Is this also from stock?

Dan

Hi
Fus -57 is .125 inch (1/8 inch ) plate 2ft by 2ft ,, mine is 2024 T-3.
Fus 89 wasn't on my shipping list but was in the box. see fig 46b for a
picture of it.
You won't need the spacer under the forward attach point of the fin if you
drill the top of fus 36 after you set the fin in place. ( watch the edge
distance on the back side of fus-29 , save the extra for the top back side)
If you ofset the fin 3/4 of an inch the spacer will need to be tapered also.
This was the only problem I had in the tail cone section and it is easy to
fix
if you know about it ahead of time.
Also at this piont skip ahead to the control section page 23-56 fig 70-75.
Its a good time to fit the elevator horn before the fins in the way.
I made a one piece doubler instead of two fus-68 (chapter 23 fig 73
07/27/94)
My doubler goes under the elevator horn with a bend on the front and back
side
cut out the three holes in the doubler. The bends keep the elevator horns
from
binding on the nylon blocks as fus-31 seems to flex a little ,, this Idea
comes from the boys in Libby Montana and is used on the local aircraft.

Dan - You really need to put your serial number in requests that
refer to specific part or instruction numbers in the manual because they
have changed significantly over time. No sense me looking up in my stuff
if you have kit nuber 500.
