What's in a Name SR - 2500 vs 3500

The original Super Rebel was called the SR-2500 because the
gross weight was 2500 lb. - it seems reasonable now to call it the
SR-3500.
Hi bob,

Thanks for your timely, thoughtful and informative response to "Periodic
Updates"

As to the question of 2500 vs 3500. I could never figure out why MAM call
the plane a SR 2500 when it had a gross of 3000.

My vote would be to have the airplane reflect its gross
(rounded off if it applies)

If a SR 2500 builder installs the mods then he/she will get to call it a
SR 3500. If a builder leaves it a stock SR 2500 that's what it is called.
If the new kits come from the factory at 3500 then SR 3500 seems
appropriate.

Off to work ... no, sorry off to build.
Have Fun, Be Safe,
Don

Thanks for the input, Don ! Always nice to find someone who
thinks the same way I do about it !! ;-) :-)

I guess a lot of people wondered about the 'SR-2500' - the
original gross <was> 2500 lb., but it was raised to 3,000 lb. after
testing of the prototype, so they were <all> 3,000 lb. gross by the
time kits were shipped.

Enjoy the building ... you'll <REALLY> enjoy the flying !!! :-)
