TAIL CONE STRINGERS (BEEF-UP)

MOOSE BUILDERS,

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO BEEFED UP THE TAIL CONE OF YOUR SR3500 USING THE 2"
U-CHANNEL MATERIAL, THAT IS INCORPORATED INTO MANY OTHER AREAS OF THE
AIRFRAME, AND RAN IT BETWEEN BULKHEADS:

I AM TRYING TO FIND THE MOST COST/TIME EFFECTIVE WAY TO MAKE, OR BUY 100'+
OF THIS TO INCORPORATE INTO A TAIL CONE BEEF-UP, SIMILAR TO HOW STEVE AND
MANY OTHERS DID IT; USING CORNER WRAPS AND ADDITIONAL STRINGERS IN FLOOR AND
ROOF - THAT GO BETWEEN BULKHEADS.

MAM WANTS WAY TOO MUCH PER FOOT FOR THEIR U CHANNEL MATERIAL, SO I NEED TO
FIGURE OUT ANOTHER WAY. ANY ADVICE IS APPRECIATED.

THANKS

KYLE

Mine (496R) doesn't have the holes predrilled either, which just seems a
little odd since the rest of the holes are already there. Guess I'll just
go ahead and drill them for now.

Hi Ben
Mine don't have those holes. May be it because mine is a later S/N 802R

Hi all,
MAM has a couple extra holes drilled in the rear spar attach bracket.
Are
these just extra rivet holes or are they for some other purpose?

Thanks,

TAIL CONE STRINGERS (BEEF-UP)

kyle,

if you do not have a metal break, find a local metal fab shop and take a
piece of the 'u' channel in and some flat stock. they can cut and bend to
match i believe its 6061 t6 .032 that i made mine out of. the cost should
be low less than an hour shop labor time. just make sure the bender has a
softer radius than they use on the steel (to tight will crack). bob moose191
