[rebel-builders] Superior files Chapter 11

Guess this means that my "Superior" case engine should be worth more over
time, unless Lycoming decides to start building the new design, too... And
yes, we're going to see pigs fly, too...

Too bad ECI didn't buy them. The Superior case (roller tappets et al) with
the ECI cylinders and crank, would have been a good combination.

Maybe I'll be able to sell some good overhauled Lycomings again!!

Doesn't look like you'll be getting anymore XP engines anytime soon
lads....and apparently Lycoming is going to by the assetts so they can turf
the "competition" for good.

[rebel-builders] Superior files Chapter 11

For some reason I had an uneasy feeling about the future of Superior when
Theilert picked them up.

That said, there's an article on Avweb saying that they will continue with the
XP series: "Superior's XP experimental engine program will continue"
http://www.avweb.com/eletter/archives/a ... tml#199544 I guess
time will tell what comes of it but I'd have rather seen them stay independent.

Hopefully Avco picking them up won't mean a consolodation (ie monopoly) of the
engine business, Superior was making the Lycoming clone business interesting.

Anyone in the group aware of any Rebel other than Walter's running the 360?
