We all know that running a service like this builders internet exchange
takes time and money. You may have noticed that this subject does not come
up very often, but this time of the year is appropriate to address the
issue.
In the past many of us have given a donation to Mike to fund the
maintenance
and operation of this list. It is, as we all know, a great resource. How
much is it worth to each of us? That is a hard question to answer. I do
know
that the information that flows back and forth is very, very useful.

Thanks for raising this flag. I heartily second the motion. I'll be happy to
hear from Mike if he's so inclined but I know in the past he's been
reluctant, to say the least, to even appear be soliciting. There are many
expenses keeping something like this going, from hardware to bandwidth, to
backup media, etc. So I would suggest that rather than put Mike on the spot,
it's up to each of us to let our conscience be our guide. I don't think
there's any danger of making Mike rich. :-)
One easy way to do this is via PayPal, where you can just send $10-$20 (or
whatever) to his email address, whether you have a PayPal account or not.
