[rebel-builders] Bilmar Floats

Nothing much other than what I told you to do already..
"Sorry.. out the door in 5 minutes for Ottawa for Thanksgiving. Back
Wednesday.
Ask the guy what the Bilmars weigh. They were built with old "glass"
technology. Not the new kevlar/e-glass vacuum infusion that Clair is using
on the Clamars to get them down to the weight that they are at.. which is
still heavy IMHO."
Clamar's with all attach fittings, pump, etc weight around 451
lbs...compared to around 270 to 290 lbs for MAM's 1800's with manual pump.
To me that 170 lbs is my passenger.....
That said... I know 180HP on an Elite.. very heavy.. on Clamar 2200's can go
anywhere I can go with my 150HP x 1800 MAM amphib floated Rebel.

[quote]Does anyone have info on Bilmar amphib floats? There's a set for sale in
barnstormers right now. Wayne, didn't you have some info on this? With
MAM float kits looking far away, I've got to look at all possibilities.
I'm sure these are heavier and they are rated at 2200 which of course, is
more than needed. How much heavier, no one seems to know. Maybe a
non-issue if one were using the 0360. They look like a nice float;
probably tougher than aluminum as well. Help! Thanks, Craig
